[Leica] m10-R and uncoded lenses

The in-camera software definitely adjusts vignetting and colours in the
corners.

says "These markings help digital Leica M-Cameras recognise the lens type
and optimise the image quality."

My MM, M246 and M10M all display[ed - I don't have them all anymore] a much
higher frequency of hanging up on start-up with uncoded lenses.  This was
described widely across the internet including by DigLloyd, with a specific
recent mention about this phenomenon on the M11.

Coded lenses work better on digital Ms, sadly, it's part of the price of
entry unless you want to spend your time manually fixing every file,
designing your own profiles or looking at vignetted, smeary corners with
weird colours from every photo taken with a 35mm or winder lens.
