I didn't realize until a couple of years ago that I had the special, early version, and I treasure it. Some of my 60's photos would have been improved if I had trusted the lens more. I was afraid to shoot wider than f/2.8, so a lot of my available light shots had some camera shake. When I got my M3 with the Summicron, I trusted that len's reputation (and the rangefinder focusing) to shoot at full aperture, but I could've done that with the Super-Takumar too.
