Subject: [Leica] Wetzlar visit

I was on a road trip around Germany and visited Wetzlar last week. Stayed
at the "Ernst Leitz Wetzlar" hotel in the Leitz Park complex, ate breakfast
at "Oskar's", had a tour of the museum and the factory and strolled around
Wetzlar.

The older former Leitz complex is now occupied by Leica Microsystems, on
Ernst Leitz Strasse, while there really seems to be no sign of Leitz/Leica
left in the neighboring Solms any more.

I was a little surprised to see that Zeiss had a significant presence in
Wetzlar as well. The Carl Zeiss Wetzlar was formerly the Moritz Hensoldt,
and continues to produce binoculars and other scopes.
