Subject: [Leica] A bit OT, but I need advice

I recently had the experience of killing a spider with my Nikon D810A.

Unfortunately, it was accomplished by the shutter, which smeared it all over
the sensor and dismembered it. The arachnid had obviously crawled into the
body while it was sitting sans lens, and made its presence known in the form
of a black shadow in the next image taken. Taking off the lens and raising
the mirror revealed the story.

I think that, in addition to a sensor cleaning, it is likely that the
shutter will need cleaning as well, and spider parts to be removed from
wherever they?ve ended up (the body did not fall out of the mirror box when
my son opened it up). This will require professional servicing. Any and all
advice on where (not) to send it would be appreciated. I can Google it, but
nothing beats personal testimonials.

Thanks,
?howard
