It is funny what you say about Michelin quality food. I have eaten in
Michelin starred restaurants maybe 10 times in my life. Every time I
thought the food was nothing to write home about (at least, to my palate),
and always felt like a patsy whose wallet was being stolen from under his
nose without any subtlety! Nowadays, if someone points out a Michelin
starred restaurant, I just run the other way.

I have a very simple mantra to figure out where to eat when I travel - eat
where the locals eat! ?

Cheers
