Subject: [Leica] Tuesday Trees

Greetings to all. I am still in the pacific northwest walking about in the
Cascades. While on several trails in national parks I noticed a
significant amount of downed trees and brush. With the concern about
forest fires it seems that there should be a better compromise between fuel
for devastating fires and decaying logs as a source of nutrients and
habitat.

After a fire or other natural event the forest renews at once. The
competition for resources begats trees growing tall very quickly:

Speaking of wind storms knocking things down:

Sometimes it is just attractive:

All the best.
