Mamiya M645 + manual lenses are cheaper still. You can get a 645E with
three lenses for around US$600. The lenses can also be used on full frame
mirrorless bodies with a tilt-shift adapter as an inexpensive, high quality
t/s option. This is the one I am eyeing at present:

I am confused about why anybody cares at all about cameras in the price
range being discussed here holding value? You buy it to use, and experiment
with, not for investment purposes!

I have just purchased some film, dusted out the film cameras, and found
that the Nikon F3 and F100 were working well, and loaded them up. Will get
out and expose them post lockdown. I have kept a basic MF/AFD range of
lenses of various eras to use with these (35 f2, 50 f1.2, 85 f1.8, 105 f2.5
and 135 f2), so I am all set. Next two will be the aforesaid Mamiya 645E,
and a Leica IIIF I purchased from Luis many moons ago!

Cheers
Jayanand
