Hi there ?

The world breathed a sigh of relief when the Salk anti-polio vaccine was
available.

Many who had reservations about taking any kind of injection issued another
sigh of relief when scientists developed the oral vaccine ? the medicine
soaked into a sugar cube.

Polio vaccination clinics for children that before had been punctuated by
crying suddenly became quiet. What child doesn?t like to eat a sugar cube?

Trauma was gone but the protection was vital and effective. This little
girl was taking advantage of the vaccine at a clinic at Lamar Elementary
School a block from my home in Amarillo.
