their dogs to 'gators; as Ted says, so fast they can run down a dog in the
first
10 yards...
So hopefully Clayton was using a telephoto!

Clayton my friend,
We all like you very much, so knock off the death defying close-ups of
alligators! Please. :-)
I mean I've photographed some weird and wild animals in my day,
predominantly
the human breed. But Alligator close-ups? Not on your life nor mine.:-)
As the saying goes.... "I'm drawing a line in the swamp!" about that!
Dang it would hurt so much! I mean for the alligator trying to chew this
tough
old son of gun, it would break it's teeth as I fought back whacking him with
my
M8 swinging it by the neck strap! :-)
As I understand, they move faster than a human when they make their initial
lunge for the first bite.
So do take great care if for some totally crazy death defying reason you
should
attempt this again..... "DO BE CAREFUL!" And have some one with a big gun
just
in case! :-)
cheers,
Dr. ted.
( I can do very good first aid if need be! ;-)
