bit like Leica ! For me its memories of holidays to the West Country
starting from Snow Hill, the old station was so atmospheric unlike the
concrete monstrosity that replaced it. A few years ago a present from my
children was Steaming into Birmingham, and many of the pictures were by a
chap called Michael Mensing who I am sure you will of heard of, and he
captured beautifully the old Snow Hill, and New Street. Those were happy

Hi Philip
Kinlet Hall is a beauty, the class is pretty well known from the Harry
Potter films - which, BTW, were partly shot at Goathland station on the NYMR.
The Earl too, the Castle Class are pretty superb engines. Another one of the
class, "Nunney Castle", spent quite a long time on the NYMR, also in green
livery and lots of shining brass - seen here at Goathland in 2006
