Hi Douglas, I meant to tell you, I went to the Severn Valley Autumn Gala?on
Sunday but was a little disappointed it did not live up to expectations, for
me personally the only star was Kinlet Hall, it seemed as well that people
stayed away, it was very quiet. I have got a lovely photo of Earl of Mount
Edgecombe on the Shakespeare Express from three weeks ago arriving at
Tyseley, she was in spanking condition with steam to spare. Regards Phil

Thanks Philip,
the day I was there the locomotives were not exactly the most
spectacular either - Sir Nigel and the Black 5s were being given a once
over in the sheds and the Schools Class "Repton" only turned up on
another day when we were in Pickering on market day - it pulled up about
6 feet away from our table where we were having coffee - interesting
that there was a group of about 10 young ladies learning "footplate
awareness" on that day.
I noticed this year that the Southern 825 now also has smoke deflectors
- doesn't look half as good as without - in fact, all in all the beast
is beginning to look a bit tatty.
Best from Hannover
