[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I use Ubuntu. I have tried a couple of other distributions, mainly
Mandriva and two flavours of Suse Linux. I didn't like the package
management under Suse and in the end, it drove me completely crackers,
so I changed to Ubuntu.
I recommend a book called 'The Linux Cookbook' by Carla Schoeder,
published by O'Rielly. Amongst many other things, it covers Samba in
quite a lot of detail, though for many I suspect a simple anonymous file
server is all that's needed for most people.
As its title suggests, the book is organised as a series of recipes and
is very easy to follow.
I can supply some details on how to configure this if anyone is
interested. Just PM me.
Cheers
