This reply to you on our 3-month old iMac.  We've been all-Mac since  
the black and white screen SE30.  Never looked back.

We love it.

I'm usining iPhoto to "triage" my shots, culling them down to the  
"keepers" then put the very few good shots into Apertture.

Love Aperture.
