Mark,

I've got that same Spotmatic & 50 f/1.4 Takumar in my camera bag right now. 
For my SLR needs, the Spotmatic with a 35, 50 & 200 make a nice, cheap set 
that get the job done.  Of course, I still shoot Barnack Leicas as well.
At my age, who needs new stuff?
