In my opinion the Leica "problem", is that his products are mainly build on
a mentality that the general market don't appreciate any more today, people
is on the culture of the constant new releases, and why should Leica create
a new camera if M6 works perfect? Well, MP is a improved M6, M7 is new, on
the lenses is almost the same. Probably 50 years ago with a more small
production could have more profits than today complicated world of the
business and technologies. Japanese marketing was oriented in continuous
technological improvements, sometimes without a really need of them on the
market, but good for the profits of the companies, they need new things
constanly, now is the digital, on the future....? Leica's philosophy is
different, just the opposite, and we are a small part of the market.

Maybe in the future will arrive to Leica the same as for great automotive
brand names, as Jaguar, the brand name continues, but it is no more a
Jaguar, is a Ford.
