Directed to Eric Welch:
Mr. Welch,
Actually, glass is not just glass. Now is it all the same. You leave readers
with the wrong impression once again.
Some glass has bubbles. Some has other physical and chemical imprefections of
manufacturing that can create undesirable side effects. And the magic mixes
today that produce rare-earth glass, high dispersion glass, and exotic
elements like flourite all make today's lenses much different than anything
available in the past.
Companies spend millions perfecting glass. They patent and guard their
creations.
All glass is not the same.
Fred Ward
