I was digging through some of my 50ish mm lenses and thought I would show examples which unfortunately I didn't take the same image. Anyway, starting in the late 50's http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Tuesday+Trees/II+50+Summicron+Rigid+at+f2_0.jpg.html This one goes back to the 60's although the design was from the mid 40"s at Zeiss: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Tuesday+Trees/58+f2+Helios+44-M.jpg.html A 60's lens: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Tuesday+Trees/50+f2+Orestegon.jpg.html Now we go back to a prewar uncoated Zeiss Sonnar: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Tuesday+Trees/Prewar+Zeiss+Sonnar+50+f2.jpg.html Last, a prewar uncoated Zeiss 35 Biogon. No, it doesn't quite touch my sensor. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Tuesday+Trees/Prewar+Zeiss+35+Biogon+f2_8.jpg.html All the best. -- Don don.dory at gmail.com
