Depending on the context, it refers to a local holiday falling on the second Thursday after Easter, or to a monastery of that name, located in San Juan, a suburb north of Alicante. In that monastery is housed an important relic, a cloth supposedly used to wipe Jesus?s face on the cross. Every year, a huge procession walks the 8 km from the cathedral in the centre of Alicante to the monastery, where the relic is placed on the square outside the church and Mass is held. This year about 350,000 people participated; some are motivated by religion, for many others it is just part of local folklore and an excuse to have a party afterwards, and for me it is obviously a nice photo opportunity. So this year I walked about half of the route and took some pictures: https://www.fotocycle.dk/paws/?page_id=4655 There are also some beach images, and my late mother?s Magic Cactus is back with the first flower of the year. As always, comments and critique are welcome and appreciated.
