In my first Natchitoches home, a portion of the back yard was always too damp to mow. I solved that by planting a couple cypress trees, but the spiderwort had taken a good hold and every spring the yard was graced with them. You may remember my sharing them each year. They have a great nickname, ?cow slobber? because of the rather viscous nature of their sap when cut.
