When Texas became a state the Legate was recalled and the land was sold to an African-American family who did much good for the community including selling land to freedmen. This oak may date to that time: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Tuesday+Trees/oak+in+front+of+the+French+Legation.jpg.html After the power outages due to trees becoming horizontal the cities energy department got busy trimming trees: http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/don_dory_gmail_com/Tuesday+Trees/oaks+and+power+lines.jpg.html All the best. -- Don don.dory at gmail.com
