Greetings to all. Between a hurricane that caused a lot of damage on the
coast a few years ago and the 2 or so years of Covid construction around
Austin slowed to a comparative crawl. That slowdown has largely ended even
with dramatically higher interest rates. The first image is part of Austin
Energy's work to strengthen the grid after our winter freeze. This is the
addition of a new high tension line upgrading the MWh available to the
local neighborhood in light of the building permits being pulled:

This next image is of a new blade on a skid steer taking out one of the
neighborhood bungalows:

The local grocery store is being transformed into a multistory food palace,
first they needed to create the new water runoff retention which is a
perimeter series of large vessels to hold water after a storm until the
city is ready to treat it. This image is mostly to demonstrate the
relative soil or lack thereof. My house is two blocks away at the end of
the blackland prairie and I have a measured 4 meters of black gumbo:

While the older homes near me are pier and beam; the ones built in the
fifties on used poured concrete slabs. Some of the concrete can go 3/4 of
a meter to bring the home out of a flood plain. It takes quite a bit to
remove that much concrete:

I met some friends for cocktails at a bar; it must be closer to UT than I
thought:

People were very happy to see in person friends that had been hidden away
in their homes:

All the best.
