After my late experiences in the darkroom the presence of grain is not an absolute question, the important thing is how the grain is, that is why I have discarded some 35mm films like the current Agfa 400, Bergger 400, Kentmere 400. I even think that the current Ilford HP5 400 in 35mm does not have the same quality as the one from years ago, however in 120 film the quality is good and noticeably better with HP5 and Bergger 400.
