Private aircraft ownership is expensive.? One way to reduce the cost is
to do some of the maintenance work oneself.? There are rules as to what
an owner-pilot can do, based on his qualifications.? In this image, the
owner on the left is checking under the cowling, and, based on his
choice of clothing, probably not getting into the dirty work.? The
airplane on the right is apparently undergoing an annual inspection.?
This would require an FAA licensed A&E Mechanic.
