The RF mechanism in the M (Typ 240) is different and futher improved over
that of previous M cameras. The tolerances are smaller and new specialised
equipment and methods are used. For most of the world that means that there
is only one location able to calibrate to that standard. I'm told now
though that Leica USA has spent some tens of thousands of dollars to
duplicate that capability for US customers.

Cheers
