I've never had a desire to own a gold Leica, but I did just win the bid for
a R3 Safari Edition, supposedly in new condition with all original
packaging etc for approximately 1/10th the asking price for that gold
Leica. I do plan to run a few rolls of film thru it each year, along with
my R8 and R6.2.
Any other R3 owners here still using their cameras? Issues I should be
aware of etc?

I put an old camera up (not an R3) on eBay today and needing to sip some
dessert wine and a piece of Roquefort with an accompaniment decided to have
a look at my ad and see what else of interest was up there. I looked at film
cameras from highest price to lowest. It seems there are a lot of optimists
out there!
On the R3 front, is it an investment or more a case of buy some gold paint?
