But isn't the purpose of that for increased depth of field, not increased data per area of scene covered? Somewhat a substitute for tilt? I guess the only reason I am digging in on this subject is that I have used both. They like M and a medium format back. I have tried Phocus stacking with both also. I see a very big difference in the color depth and detail with my medium format back then I do with my Leica. I think it's the same physics that comes into play between 35mm and medium /large format photography.
