Thank you, Daniel. Yes, this is the "modern" elmar 2.8 - 50 which I bought
used about 8 years ago for about $ 600, which I find relatively "cheap" for
a Leica lens. I would have thought this lens was easy to find ... obviously
not! I also have a classic (1938) elmar 50 which I use once in awhile with
the IIIc - but the latter is not to be compared with the modern elmar which
produces excellent contrast.Jean-Michel
