[Leica] 560MM leica lens

The 400/560 f/6.8 'modular' lenses are very similar in performance to 
the slightly earlier f/5.6 versions. The f/6.8's are very slightly 
better at the same stops in terms of contrast, but all suffer from 
field curvature, which is not a big deal as the subject is usually 
close to centered, and the rest of the image is out of focus.

The f/6.8 versions weigh a lot less, and are much easier to handle 
because of that and the slide focussing IMO. Some people like the 
Televit or Focorapid focussing better, but the slide focussing is 
fast and positive with a bit of practice. My hit rate shooting birds 
in flight is a lot better with the 400/6.8 than with any autofocus 
lens I've used to date.
