Out on the West Coast we have a relative called Poison Oak. The
leaves look the same as those of Poison Ivy, but the entire plant can
have configurations ranging from a bit of ivy to a small tree. I
think I have partial immunity to it because I used to ride horseback
a lot, and often rode through poison oak patches, but never got
affected despite much brushing down the horse after the ride.
However, once I found a rash on my chest and took it to a
dermatologist. He said: "It's a contact dermatitis. I don't know what
it is, but if you asked me to make a guess, I'd say poison oak.

Some people are turned into basket cases by it.
