There are two reasons why items are rare. Firstly they were so enormously expensive when new that few could afford one, secondly that they were not very good. For the price the f1.1 fits into the latter category (IMO) Things like the Kodak Ektra or particularly the Bell and Howell Foton the former (though the Ektra has 2 weak spots).
