It's interesting that just as I'm about to post this, there's a big discussion building on the LUG about what makes a good photo - because while I'm usually pretty tight-assed about precise focus and undetectable motion blur, which has so far mostly served me well, on the evening in question I decided to let go of all of that (since I knew it'd be essentially impossible anyway) and just go ahead and take pictures I knew would be grainy and often blurry and yet (I hoped) convey the feel of moments during the evening. Y'all can decide if you think they're successful. To page through them (there are only 16) on a nice black background, here you go: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbm0/5320963117/in/set-72157625614839289/lightbox/ The Flickr set is here, if you wish to make your own viewing choices: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbm0/sets/72157625614839289/ If you just want to take a quick look at two I particularly recommend, here are a couple of links: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbm0/5320968499/in/set-72157625614839289/lightbox/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/jbm0/5320968861/in/set-72157625614839289/lightbox/ What with a number of them shot at 1/10 or 1/4 second with people all jumping around, they're definitely not meant to be submitted for a stock agency's pixel-peeping scrutiny! -Jeff
