Thanks Steve - though it's not as if we were alone in  our experience. 
It wasn't all bad - at least not in the beginning.  There were many 
lighter moments.
Compared to many we were lucky, as Pearl was in a Nursing home, so had 
excellent care.  Having to care for someone with dementure full-time is 
not something that I would want to do, yet many people do.

I think it would be an excellent title for your project (Jayanand's 
observation notwithstanding).
