Great idea, but you got the same old problem of Ricoh's non-existant service 
pretty much everywhere, except Japan.

have u guys seen this http://www.dpreview.com/news/0911/09111001ricohgxr.asp.
a great concept, something leica was planning to do with the m8 back then
when they said the m8 is forever upgradable
