There's a relatively new firmware update out, less than a month old, for the 
LX3 that I'm excited about. Finally they've done the things that make me 
happy with this camera in that they've added a 'LENS RESUME' function to the 
menu.

This allows the camera to automatically revert, on powering up, to the last 
zoom position and MF position.

In essence I can preset to a 28mm lens using a VF comparison and keep that 
FL locked in; same with my favored 7 foot focusing distance. Yeehaw!
