Archived posting to the Leica Users Group, 2009/10/20
[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]I've read them (and the supplemental ones for the Pro account and the
Yahoo! account). I realize that Yahoo! can use my content to promote
Flickr ("solely for the purposes of providing and promoting the
specific Yahoo! Group to which such Content was submitted or made
available"), but only for as long as I leave my content there. Sounds
much like a standard agreement when one submits content (say, to JPG
magazine before it went under), even submitting images for a juried
show often lets the show organizers the right to use your image to
promote the show. I'm not adverse to that, and have submitted images
to shows on that basis. Are there any actual cases (preferably legal,
where damages have been awarded) for Flickr abusing / violating those
ToS? Finally, are there any other terms really bother you, Tina?
All of this about the ToS is, of course, a completely seperate issue
from the original posts, which centered around the look and
presentation of a slideshow. (I realize that the inferiority of
Flickr is quite likely an "article of faith" here on LUG, but
misinformation (about the look and presentation of slideshows)
benefits no one; hence my earlier post.) :-)
