Hi Jerry,

Actually it originates from ?esk? Bud?jovice in the Czech Republic.

Also known by its German name Budweis at the time Southern Bohemia was
under German rule/occupation.

But no matter, the fine ales of Yorkshire, Sam Smiths, John Smiths,
Tetley's, Theakstons, Timothy Taylor still sweep the board when it comes
to sheer beer drinking pleasure - not to mention the independent and
micro breweries like the ones listed here:

http://www.line-studio.co.uk/yorkshire-ale/46-reasons.htm

I've tried at least 90% of what the independents and micros offer - all
excellent stuff - my current favourite is Copper Dragon, followed
closely by Sam Smith's (one of the oldest and consistently excellent
Yorkshire Breweries, and one of the few still brewing a Mild Ale)

Samuel Smith's beers are listed here, along with their US importer
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Smith_Brewery

This is Copper Dragon - the fastest growing brewery in the UK, based in
the beautiful market town of Skipton.

A hearty cheers to all ale drinkers

Douglas
