this.
If your primary need is to print big prints?as sharp as can be (i.e., no
softness due to data degradation) and you don't need low light capabilities
beyond 800 or 1600 (so speed isn't an issue), is it better to have 12MP with
big sites or 20+MP with smaller sites?
I think I know the answer (and why, as a shrub photographer I'm not too
excited about the D700), but I'd?really like to hear from folks who
understand this?stuff.

Save some $$$ and get the 200/f2 VR and have extra $$$ for converters.
Or with the 1.5x it is a 300/f2!
