them. When we made the slideshows afterwards the DNG showed magenta instead
of black of course, but in B&W made no difference. He was given an M8 and
sent to Istanbul by Leica at the start of the M8's life, and we saw his
pictures from then before they had brought out all the UV/IR filters. Apart
from synthetic fabrics it wasn't a problem. He had some nice ISO 2500 B&W
taken in bars with film-like grain.
Best wishes,
Matthew

Looks like you had a good day's shooting, Mathew.
Just curious; did Bret have any comments regarding the use/non-use of the?IR
filters for BW work?
Thanks,
Bob

I went on the Leica Akademie afternoon in London last week.? Four of us were
taught by a Leica-M photographer called Brett who was very good.? To make us
concentrate on taking good shots we had to take B&W jpg at ISO 360 EV -1/3
high contrast and these are all straight from camera.? Not my usual style,
and I learnt how to use the M8 in a different way from before.? These are my
favourite 12.? I also kept DNG so have some colour for later developing.
