certainly a network problem. Determining just whose network the problem is
in requires significant technical expertise.
The LUG Gallery server computer is in Redwood City, California. In order to
connect to it you must use a network path that joins your computer with that
location. It will be a different network path than the one joining your
computer with Miami or London or Antofagasta. Typically there are between 15
and 20 network links between your computer and any server, and it only takes
one of them being overloaded or misconfigured to cause the problems that you
describe.
Just now I did a trace from the LUG Gallery server to the computer from
which you sent your email (on a Mindspring cable network connection via
Melbourne, Florida USA). It passed through
Mindspring in Orlando
Roadrunner in Daytona Beach
Roadrunner in Orlando (yes, it went from Orlando to
Daytona Beach and back to Orlando)
Level3 in Orlando
Level3 in Atlanta
Level3 in Denver
Level3 in San Jose, California
Level3 in Palo Alto, California
Level3 in San Francisco, California
My server in Redwood City, California
There were dozens of hops inside Roadrunner that I didn't enumerate
directly. Looking at this trace and at the level of dither I see in
Roadrunner in the trace, I'd bet a couple of beers that there's some sort of
network issue in the junction between Roadrunner and Level3 in Orlando that
is the root cause of your difficulty in looking at the LUG Gallery.
