             My DS M3 was outfitted with a new ( old ) stock rewind gear
mechanism  -  and now works
             Beautifully

Puts in a putz.

These could have come from anywhere. New old stock probably.

I had a new top cover put on my M3 (probably by the same guy) and it looked
brand new and was  a replacement part. I'll bet your new top cover doesn't
have a serial number, right?

I mean who is going to make fake Leica M3 top covers?
