pheasant's eye) is about the position of the one focus point I leave
on. However I know that it is not close enough for you because if the
pheasant would turn right or dip it's head - you'd have to move the
camera "to focus" rather than to "frame and compose." Which is why I
primarily use manual focus Leica glass on the Leicanons.
The summary of this discussion really comes down to:
If using AF one has to choose a single focus point.
Once you've made that choice
you have to
move the camera "to focus"
instead of or in addition to
moving the camera "to frame and compose"
where with MF
camera movement = composition
body movement and focus wheel = focus
