Well Steve,
we can't all know George Formby, Ruby Murray and Stanley Holloway. But I 
really think the likes of Sinatra and the great jazz singers are worthy 
enough to be remembered, after all we still remember Bach, Beethoven and 
Mozart (Happy Birthday Amadeus), and it was in the paper yesterday that 
Barry Manilow is back (aaaaargh!!!)

BTW, for the last umpteen years the most watched show on German TV is a 
short sketch with May Warden and Freddy Frinton (Dinner for One) shown 
on virtually all channels on New Year's Eve
and not dubbed into German or sub-titled either.
