[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Brad - Ask for remuneration in advertising, publishing a photo feature to
your credit, or some such thing. Papers sometimes get "comped" for
advertising with movie tickets, motel rooms, dinners, etc - maybe a trade
could be done for those. I have had the same experience where there is no
blood in the turnip. So make your own stew with whatever win-win deal you
can stir up, especially if the editor is a friend.
And while you're doing it, educate your friend and the staff politely but
firmly on photo copyright laws!

Subject: Re: [Leica] use of photo without permission
it's a local alt-weekly. they struggle financially, and $200 would
probably mean they'd have to go without paychecks. i really don't want
revenge, but i would appreciate it if they'd show enough respect at
least to ask my permission. the editor is a friend of mine, which
makes it a little awkward, but i think they should understand that they
can't just use my pictures at will just because i'm a friend.
