Don't know about the SF-20, but the SF24 seems very good for battery
longevity.

What is the shelf life of the batteries for the SF-20 ? I opened a 2-pack
of
Duracell 123 batteries, inserted them into the flash, and all I got was a
faint "tic tic." I hardly ever use flash; I store the SF-20 without the
batteries, and don't remember when I bought the spares.
