>For a lens that is supposed to have such
>poor performance for everyday photography,
Who ever said that the noct had poor performance?
I've seen super results from many on this list.
I've read reports which rate it along side summicron from f:2-16.
Folks have raved about flair resistance.
The only downside crits I've seen relate to softness, dof and bokeh at
f:1-1.4. The fact anyone would find this surprising has always left me
chuckling. At f:1 the lens functions at the very cutting edge of
photo-optical limits. At f:1.8-16 the lens makes beautifully sharp
photographs. Not a noct apologist - just another noct lover.
