In the right hands...Tina's, Ted's and Sandy's, for instance...it can be
a mighty tool. Merely using a Noctilux does not grant one the ability
to take pictures like Ted, Tina and Sandy who bring years of experience
and knowledge, and no small measure of talent to their endeavors.

The point, Buzz, is that Tina is very effectively using the lens for its
intended purpose. And it is quite effective when used that way. :-)

However, Tina, you really know how to use the Noctilux. I notice that
nearly all of your backgrounds are very plain and not very deep, so the
vertiginous Noctilux bokeh doesn't develop. Also, these pictures do not
have significant foreground to blur out. In one case you have a
relatively deep background, but it is very dark. The one exception is
the photograph of Senor Lopez fanning himself with his hat; here the
deeper background outside the barn door does exhibit the Noctilux bokeh
that some among us find quite objectionable.
The lesson I draw is that a good photographer who knows what she's doing
will use the Noctilux to fine effect. I only wish that I and more of us
had some small portion of Tina's talent, ability and experience.

I love my Noctilux and you will have to pry it from my cold, dead
hands! Do you see nausea bokeh or boredom in content of these Noctilux
photos? (actually, boredom in the content would hardly be the fault of
the
lens!)

And many, many more! They are all made with the Noctilux and could not
have been made with any other lens! I am not a Leica do-or-die fan and
hate their current association with fancy name-brand purses and scarves,
but they made a killer of a low-light lens that nobody else has even
begun
to equal. When it comes to taking photos in the dark, nothing else
comes
close to a Noctilux. I would never use it stopped down in broad
daylight,
but that is not its purpose. If you can see the bokeh, you should not
be
using the Noctilux!!
