Well I will miss the opening, but will be in town this weekend (Friday
through Sunday), so I will have to stop in and see the exhibit.

Opening Reception and Gallery Talk
Witness: Contemporary Mexican Photography
Thursday, March 4, 2004
5:00 - 7:00pm
Director Rod Slemmons and Cecilia Salcedo Medez, director of the Centro
Alvarez Bravo in Oaxaca, Mexico, have worked collaboratively to curate
this exhibition. Slemmons has been involved in the photography community
in Mexico and specifically Oaxaca for ten years. Since the brothers
Casasola documented the Revolution of 1910, photo-journalism and social
documentary have created a robust photographic tradition in Mexico. This
exhibition will explore this development with examples of work by Yolanda
Andrade, Maya Goded, Alberto Ibanez, Jorge Lepez vela, Eniac Martinez,
Fransisco Mata Rosas, Marcela Taboada, and Jaime Bailleres. Please join
us for an evening of Mexican food and music and a gallery talk at 6 pm
with exhibiting artist Yolanda Andrade.
