[Leica] Warning regarding Earthlink

I came very close to falling from what is apparently the latest net scam
- - as an Earthlink customer I received what looked like a real Email from
Earthlink customer service telling me that I needed to update my
personal and credit information or my service would be cut off in five
days. The Email contains a link that takes one to what appears to be
part of the earthlink site....It's NOT. This is a scam.
If any of you earthlink users get something like this, go to 
Support.earthlink.net to check out the address of the website.

What is going on with the net?  I just finally received my post from
last Friday!  I've already received several replies.  Weird!  My office
partner has seen this also.

This is a question to those of you out there who have web sites.  I am
considering setting up a site and would like to get an idea of the best
way to go about this endeavor.  I seen the Tripod.com site and it looks
like it may be a good way to get started for a totally ignorant person
like myself on this subject.  Is this a good way to get going or are
there better places/services out there that a novice like myself can get
started at?  Of course the photos will be from Leica cameras - Just to
keep this on topic. I would really like some help/advice to get me
started.
