The first one should go all the way into the other side and the second one should not start creeping out ahead of time. Check the rangefinder: vertical alignment (you can see this easy enough) and then, with a lens on and set at infinity, check out a tower a couple of kilometers away or airplane up in the sky (10 km up) and make sure the images line up. Other than that, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong. Look at the shutter curtains after you wind it (both sides) and then fire the shutter and look at them again (it will be a different one). Make sure the take-up spool is in there. I like M2's. I hope you like yours (if you buy it).
