Open the back, set the shutter to 1 second and fire it off a few times.
Watch the curtain. The first one should go all the way into the other side
and the second one should not start creeping out ahead of time.

Check the rangefinder: vertical alignment (you can see this easy enough)
and then, with a lens on and set at infinity, check out a tower a couple
of kilometers away or airplane up in the sky (10 km up) and make sure the
images line up.

Other than that, there's not a whole lot that can go wrong. Look at the
shutter curtains after you wind it (both sides) and then fire the shutter
and look at them again (it will be a different one).

Make sure the take-up spool is in there.

I like M2's. I hope you like yours (if you buy it).
