And Appletalk > is verboten on my employer's network for these very reasons. Your employer is living in a fool's paradise then. Appletalk over IP has cleaned up its network act very well. However, it is strictly a local area protocol since it isn't routed. OS X, of course, has no such limitation. It's networking is excellent.
